Things just got a lot hotter in the hyper-competitive world of online email providers.

In response to Google’s announcement that their soon-to-be-launched “Gmail” service will offer users 1 gigabyte of email storage, Yahoo! announced an upgrade of their free email service to allow users 100MB of free email storage along with other enhancements.

Microsoft’s Hotmail will surely also announce a free upgrade in email storage space.

On the surface it might just appear like a simple case of one-upmanship, but it actually represents major forces digging in online and preparing to do battle.

It appears Yahoo! simply wanted to take the issue of email storage space off the table as a consideration for users as to which email service to choose.

Google enjoyed considerable media and public attention over the past few weeks with the media marveling at how Google intended to give hundreds of megabytes more space to its users than Yahoo! or Hotmail.

With this move, Yahoo! made storage a “non-issue,” but the real war has only just begun.

Email ranks as the number one most popular online activity according to virtually any survey you care to read.

When people go online, they spend the single biggest chunk of their time sending, receiving, and reading email.

Online email providers understand that eyeballs on a page looking at advertising and responding to offers is what makes them money.

By increasing loyalty among email users in order to repeatedly draw them back to the same website (often several times a day), email service providers like Yahoo!, Hotmail and Google can keep people looking at revenue generating ads.

Despite the best efforts of government regulators, private organizations, software filters, ISP’s and others, over half of all email sent online rates as unsolicited commercial email (SPAM).

Besides storage space, Google, Yahoo! and Hotmail will start claiming that their spam filters rate better than the rest.

These online powerhouses hope to attract users with the promise of cutting down and even eliminating the avalanche of get-rich-quick, pornography, and ink-jet cartridge offers (among others) that bombard virtually anyone with an email account more than 15 minutes old.

This will, however, lead to another problem that many of them won’t talk about, which involves filtering legitimate email as spam.

Unfortunately, the sword cuts both ways on this issue.

So where does it all end? Never! Hotmail will enter the fray with expanded storage capacity as well as the promise of less spam and a more “friendly” interface to make your email life even easier.

Yahoo! and Hotmail will most likely copy Google and start serving context sensitive advertising based on the content of each email message as it get viewed.

Privacy advocates will weigh in to claim that all of the filtering and serving of ads based on an email message’s content violates our rights to privacy and heralds the arrival of “Big Brother.”

But all this jockeying for position and enticing users from one email service to another actually represents a great boon for the average Internet user.

It will force three of the Web’s biggest players to wake up and improve their services after 2 or 3 years of “business as usual” and we can all expect a few valuable innovations to result.

It can be confidently said that a vast majority of refrigerators
here in America has at least two or more refrigerator magnets
attached to them. Every single person I know has them,
especially if there are kids in the household. Many special
memories, achievements, notes, photos and other mementos have
graced the refrigerator door and the refrigerator magnets are
what keep them in place. All of them are a constant reminder o
what binds the family together, special occasions that must
always be remembered to symbolize the core of the family. Each
piece that is brought upon on the refrigerator door represents a
part of our lives. A school work, art work, scribbling by a kid
is regarded as an important accomplishment when it is placed on
the refrigerator, making the refrigerator a sort of a trophy
case.

Aside from holding up something, refrigerator magnets also are
there because of what they may symbolize. Refrigerator magnets
may come in different shapes, sizes, colors and messages.
Refrigerator magnets can bar messages that can be quite
humorous, inspirational or anything. That’s the beauty of
refrigerator magnets; they can come in whatever shape or form
and deliver any message. Refrigerator magnet may also be used as
decorations for the refrigerator. Some people have elevated
sticking refrigerator magnets into an art form. Many people buy
magnets of the places they have gone to vacation to. Some
magnets are also used for photo framing. You won’t need to tack
the corners of the photo with refrigerator magnets, the
refrigerator magnets are the frame itself. Some companies use
refrigerator magnets are used by companies as a promotional
stunt, placing their names and logo on the front of the sticker.

If aliens ever come to earth, they’d probably scratch their
heads and wonder why of all places, a metal box that stores food
would be the place were keepsakes and household communication
would be placed. What is so revere about this common household
appliance that it is bestowed with the honor of being the center
of all that attention? The obvious reason would be that the
fridge is one of the household appliances that is so often gone
to. Aside from the television, the fridge provides much
importance in the daily life. It holds within it food to nourish
us and water or any other liquid to be drunk to quench our
thirst. Many times even though a person is not hungry, they
would check inside the ref for something to munch on. That is
why putting notes and keepsakes on the ref is common sense
because all the members of the household would o to the
refrigerator or nourishment everyday, increasing the possibility
that a note will be read when left there.

That is why it is necessary that your refrigerator magnet should
have strong magnets in them. There are times when a memo would
not be read or maybe a special memento or keepsake shall be
dropped and lost o ruined because the magnet holding in is not
strong enough. Aside of course from the art or aesthetics of the
refrigerator magnet, the strength of the refrigerator magnet
should also be considered. With the right kind of refrigerator
magnet, you can put anything you want, within reason of course,
on your fridge door; also, choosing a great design that fits
your character and lifestyle would turn your kitchen into
something that speaks truly of you. Have fun decorating your
fridge, refrigerator magnets will help you a whole lot.

Tanzania is fast becoming, if not already, the most sought after
destination for an African Safari. This reputation and desire
for this special place is not unfounded. However is the budget
option the better option, as Tanzania is fast becoming an
expensive destination. Expensive that is if you want to go to
Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti and Kilimanjaro. Budget safaris
has become, for many, the only option.

Why is Tanzania so expensive? Is this a matter of cashing in on
a new found popularity? The short answer to this question is no,
it is not; the reason is the sheer volume of tourists. Tanzania
wants to keep numbers to sustainable levels. The sheer numbers
wanting to tour the popular parks is damaging the fragile
eco-system.

Tanzania has many fascinating parks with much to offer. All the
game parks have high densities of animals. It is cheaper now to
choose parks in the south or the west.

A friend of mine recently came to visit and decided he should go
on a short safari. He was on a tight budget and went with a tour
operator that offered a good deal. It was a short two day safari
to see Lake Manyara and then Ngorongoro crater. This first
morning he was due to leave at 9h00; however departure was
actually 10h30. The car broke down on the first day and everyone
had to push the car to start it again. Repairs to the car were
carried out at the camp site after the game drive.

There was a guaranteed four people in the car ensuring good game
viewing and a window seat for everyone. However, six people were
in the car and things were cramped. The second day in the crater
the game viewing was only for five hours and not the full day
promised. My visitor was pleased to return home and has been put
off safaris for life.

A safari is hard work; the euphoria overcomes the hardship
endured in getting to see the animals. To fully appreciate the
safari it is better to spend a little more money on comfort. To
have a reliable comfortable car with only a few fellow
safari-ests is essential. The roads can be rough and to have
room to bounce around and absorb the bumps and bangs of the
roads is essential. Following the great migration in the
Serengeti might involve fighting off swarms of hard biting
tsetse flies - this is not easy when six people, the driver cook
and camping equipment are squeezed into one slow-moving safari
land cruiser.

I would also recommend a good lodge or tented camp. Yes they
expensive; however they are luxurious, in good positions within
the parks, close to the animals and truly you experience Africa
in these camps. You feel less of a tourist and more of an
explorer.

To go budget is a mistake. To try to afford the best safari is a
must in-order to really enjoy the safari experience. There are
many parks in Tanzania which have low park fees; as few visitors
are heading to these remote parks; yet. There are mountains and
areas that are not national parks and therefore no park fee’s to
pay and they are fantastic places to visit. To spend time
researching and then to find an operator who is willing to help
and advise you is the key. It need not cost a fortune. Try to
avoid the budget safari and take time to find the better
alternative.

People in the internet marketing community have discovered a new
form of marketing web pages and exchanging links, and this
method is quickly gaining a large head of steam. The basic
system works like this: a person will write a page of content,
and then allow a foreign website to publish that content in
exchange for a link in a resource box on the page. This idea
appeals to both parties for several reasons, which I’ll outline.

Article Directories follow the metaphysical law of
Reciprocation. What this means in Layman’s Terms is: you scratch
my back and I’ll scratch yours. Both parties get something out
of the arrangement, and all is good. If you contrast this
particular method of marketing to the more odious method of
“scraping content”, and you’ll quickly see why article
directories are considered to be the wave of the future when it
comes to interactive and co-operative marketing. Article
directories allow for participation by:

1)webmasters who want to use the articles 2)The Webmaster who
wrote the article and who receives promotional credit for
publishing it 3)The end user who gets high quality content that
may not have been available otherwise.

If you haven’t already begun article creation, you better get
started soon. Right now, the article directory industry is
exploding. What better way to promote your website than to write
expert articles that make you and your subject matter stand out
from the crowd? If you’re an excellent writer, you can greatly
expand the audience of your website by expanding your reach on
the internet. Once you’re published on a multitude of websites,
you can expect a great deal of direct traffic as well as search
engine juice from your many installed articles. If you think
about 10 articles that are on over 100 sites, you can quickly
see that’s 1,000 pages that now link to you with information
about you and your website. Done consistently, for months on
end, there is no better way of increasing your exposure than
authoring and submitting articles on your favorite subjects. If
you’re not already an expert on a subject, then what better time
to start than now?

You are best off writing individual articles for the web
directories that do not appear on your own website. Otherwise,
you may run into the very real risk of the article directory
outranking you for your very own content! Generally article
directories are very popular website with a great deal of
traffic and link popularity, so they often will rank for your
article. If you use original content, you can expect additional
traffic, that doesn’t interfere with your websites traffic at
all. Submitting content to article directories is not a miracle
cure for all of your ranking blues, but it’s a great start for a
deserving website on the road to recognition. Only by getting
the word out, can you expect others to be able to find the
wonderful resource that is your website.
