1. Have A Strong Constitution - Justices deliver decisions by interpreting the U.S. Constitution. Never let the challenges of running your small business overwhelm your judgment.

2. Trust Your Beliefs - Members of the Court maintain supreme confidence in their opinions. Know your core values, and let them serve each day as your guiding light.

3. Treat Everyone With Respect - Justices take an oath to “do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and… faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties…” Hold yourself to the highest standards in dealings with customers/clients, employees and suppliers.

4. Address One Thing - The Court receives 7,000 appeals each year, accepts about 100, then disposes them one at a time. Focus on your most important issue before moving on to the next.

5. Listen First - In your small business, as in court, be sure to listen before deciding, especially when dealing with employees and speaking with prospective customers/clients.

6. Be Decisive - Stick with your decision, unless things change and overturning it is necessary.

7. Majority Rules - Five concurring votes determine a Supreme Court ruling. Don’t wait to make a decision until you’re 100 percent certain; when your instinct reaches a majority, move forward.

8. Dissent Is Healthy - Justices who disagree with the majority may write dissenting opinions. Encouraging your team to voice their opinions - regardless of whether they agree with you - will lead you to better decisions.

9. Seek The Best - We view Supreme Court justices as our nation’s top legal minds. Always hire the brightest employees, regardless of the position…and be patient finding them.

10. Skip The Critics - Justices adhere to their interpretations regardless of political pressure, public opinion or media hype. Keep negative people away from your decision-making process.

11. Dress Appropriately - Justices’ robes represent the honor of their position. Whatever the attire and décor for your small business, uphold the standards for everyone on your team.

I have been fond of Hewlett-Packard [HP] products for many years. The company has been a leader in the personal computer field for quite some time and is distinguishing itself as a capable competitor with their fine line of inkjet and laserjet printers. My latest purchase, a LaserJet 1012, has proven to be an accomplished workhorse. I will review with you why I give this printer such high marks.

1. Top Quality For years, I had enjoyed working with HP laserjets at my place of employment. The 600 dpi printing capabilities of these particular models meant that all my documents were crisp and sharp and as professional as anything that an offset printer could produce. With prices exceeding one thousand dollars I knew that such equipment was beyond what I could afford for myself. Still, when it came time for me to start my own business, I discovered that HP had launched a line of printers that everyone could afford. Thus came into being the HP Laserjet 1012, a black and white printer sporting a resolution level as high as 1200 dpi. My favorite feature is its ability to crank out 15 pages per minute; for someone who produces multiple documents that feature is a real time saver.

2. Compact The original HP laserjets were noisy and clunky. Not so with the HP 1012. No screeching of the printer wheels either, a distraction found in early models the Hewlett Packard has successfully refined away over the years. The unit is always on and it occupies about half the space of many older HP models.

3. Versatile You can print out letter, legal or index paper and the unit can handle standard business envelopes…without jamming! Recommended monthly output is 5000 copies; I haven’t approached that amount yet but my past experience is that you can safely exceed HP recommended limits.

4. Affordable Priced competively, the HP 1012 can be purchased for about $200. not including rebates. At various times HP offers a rebate which will lower the price even further; I have seen a $50. rebate offered from time to time. To me, the unit is worth much more than the price you pay for the output it produces. In addition, the toner cartridge that came with the unit is the standard size. I have seen new printers with a cartridge that only prints out 200-300 copies before running out of toner. The HP 1012 cartridge that comes with the machine produces up to 2000 copies. Replacements can easily be obtained at any major office supply store or online.

I purchased my unit from a national office supply store. After one year of service, I can say that it meets all of my expectations and then some. I give the product a 5-star rating, the highest possible rating a product can receive.

Ah the ever present battle to lose those unwanted pounds. In today’s society we are bombarded with weight loss products and programs. Everywhere you look, it’s low-fat this and reduced calories that. It seems every other commercial is advertising some miracle diet pill or program. Fitness clubs are opening up on every corner and new weight loss books are being published at lightening speed! Yet with all this going on around us, we are still not losing weight. What we are doing is driving our friends, family and ourselves insane! Not to mention the damage we are causing our minds and bodies with all the diets and pills. So how do we lose the weight and keep it off? I believe I have finally found the answer!

I have taken the pills, tried the diets (even cabbage soup), and spent more money than I could afford on programs. Finally one day after stepping on the scales and seeing that after a week of dieting, I had not lost one pound, I started thinking about metabolism. I knew metabolism had to do with the rate in which your body uses up or burns calories. So, if I had a higher metabolism, I would burn calories faster than I consumed them, which meant I could lose weight. So I started looking up everything I could about metabolism.

I found many pills that claimed to raise metabolism, but after all the money I had spent on diet pills already, I was hesitant to spend more. Then I found out that some foods can give you the same results. The thought of boosting my metabolism with something as natural and tasty as strawberries really caught my attention. I started eating and drinking these natural metabolism boosters along with what I normally eat, and I have started losing weight!

I found most of my information from the book “The Fat Flush Foods” by Ann Louise Gittleman, M.S., C.N.S. I recommend you read the book for full details on these foods like how to buy and prepare them correctly. If you don’t want to spend the money on the book, at least look them up on the internet. If you don’t prepare some of these correctly, they won’t work properly and some can be harmful.

So, without further ado, I present you with a list of natural metabolism boosters!

- Apple Cider Vinegar - Flaxseed Oil
- Flaxseeds - Water
- Protein: Beef, Eggs, Lamb, Salmon, & Whey Protein - Kale
- Berries: Raspberries, Strawberries and Blueberries - Almonds
- Spelt - Yogurt
- Chromium - CLA
- GLA - L-Methionine
- Herbs & Spices: Cayenne, Cinnamon, Cloves, Dried Mustard, Garlic and Ginger
- Oregon Grape Root

It is still recommended that you cut back on your sugar and salt intake and it is always good for you to exercise. This doesn’t mean strict diets and exhausting exercise programs. Just use less salt, less sugar and maybe take a walk around your block every day. Eat when you’re hungry, don’t starve yourself. Now you can snack on berries, almonds, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and more.

The point is, you don’t have to lose your mind to lose your weight!

Around thirty years back you’d find just a dribble of Britishers looking for real estate in France. Ask everyone who has emigrated to France and they are certain to back it up. Many people would prefer to see it as a basically irrelevant craze and others prefer to see it as a more or less an infatuation! People that will actually move over here range from young urban couples keen on a new challenge to the elderly planning on relaxation and enjoyment.

Bear in mind, however, that you might encounter some catches when purchasing real estate abroad — expectably there are a million procedures be it when devising a plan, surveying or signing up. However, property buyers are certainly spoilt for choice in a part of the world determined by fair countryside and tremendous vista. Presently it has the whole lot just about anyone might feasibly crave and more.

Accusations of spam can be so harmful to your business that every effort should be made to prevent it.

However, simply requesting a surfer to enter an e-mail address into an online form on your website is not a guarantee of not being accused of spam.

Here’s what could happen

One of your competitors could visit your website and enter the name of a well-known anti-spammer. When your autoresponder sends out the latest copy of your newsletter or mini-course to this person, he will become very angry.

It is no good protesting your innocence. Since he didn’t ask to subscribe to your newsletter, he will claim that you are spamming him. While you are arguing your case with your Web host, your competitor will be taking your profits!

Here’s how Double Opt-In works

When a subscriber signs up for your newsletter online, he or she receives a confirmation e-mail to which they must respond if they are to be added to your list.

The confirmation usually involves simply clicking a link or hitting the reply-to button.

Taking these precautions can prevent a lot of trouble and ensure that your opt-in subscribers really want your information.

Master copywriter Robert Collier often used a technique to get people to read more of his sales letters. You can use this same technique right now to increase the readership of your web pages and emails.

I’ll get to it in a moment. For now, let me tell you a couple of things about readership in general, and the importance of using long versus short copy, in most cases.

If you’re one of those marketers that rebel against the idea of long copy, and insist that people don’t read it, listen up. If you’re copy is boring, or unsubstantiated, or fails to promise the delivery of an expected benefit, then you are absolutely right.

But if you promise the expected benefit, and use engaging copy that’s firing on all cylinders, effectively attracting attention, building interest, desire, and action, have no fear.

Your prospects will read as many words as necessary to convince themselves to become buyers. That could mean thousands of words, depending what you are asking them to do.

If the price is significant, or the thing you are selling demands a significant change of behavior, or even if you are operating in a very mature, hotly competitive commodity market, you just cannot expect people to decide favorably with minimal information.

They need enough sound reasons to buy, and they need those reasons appropriately substantiated. Too many marketers paint pretty pictures, but fall down when it comes to demonstrating proof.

Anyway, getting back to that little technique that Robert Collier used that I was telling you about.

Collier observed that human beings possess a couple of inborn traits that he used to get them to read his letters. I’m assuming you’re one, so I’m going to include you in this ;=)

A) We’re naturally curious. We have an inborn “desire to know” hard wired into our brains. It’s instinctive, part of our survival program.

B) We just can’t stand having a half baked thought or idea, hanging around waiting to be finished. If there’s an open loop, we want it shut.

So how did the legendary Collier use these to his money making advantage?

He would set up a story, and build up a primary point, and then before taking that primary point to it’s logical conclusion, head off in a secondary direction, while promising to return to the first one momentarily.

His readers hung on his every word, because they were curious about how the story would end, and they could’nt stand to leave the first thought unfinished.

You can use this same technique to great effect online. Or you can turn it upside down like this in an autoresponder series.

Instead of introducing the secondary point toward the beginning of the copy, you introduce it toward the end, leave the thought unfinished, and promise to close the loop in the next installment. Collier did this constantly to create a sense of anticipation in the minds of his periodical subscribers, and you can see the same technique used frequently in the theatre and in soap operas.

To give you an idea of how powerful this idea is, get this…

Psychologists took to studying the behavior of wait staff in Restaurants. At regular intervals they would question the waiters and waitresses about the orders they had taken.

Almost without fail, the waiters and waitresses could remember what the people who were still in the Restaurant had ordered, with a high degree of accuracy. But almost always, they totally forgot what the people who had already paid their bill had ordered, even though those patrons had left the Restaurant only minutes before.

Because the mind hates unfinished business, it remains engaged until the event or subject of attention unfolds and resolves itself in a logical conclusion. In this case, the payment of the check.

And in the case of your sales letter or email sequence, the close. That’s a big deal, because that’s where you ask for the money, right?

Working from home is many people’s goal. No traffic, no train delays, no office politics. But if you’re going to work from home full or part time, your work area needs to be carefully planned to make it comfortable and functional. By making some simple changes to either an existing office or when planning a new design, your choices of furniture are now possible to create an office space that can blend in to your house, especially when space is limited.

If your office will be in an existing room, such as a living or dining room, the use of a divider of some sorts will allow the room to be used for both purposes at the same time. Modular cube units are idea for this. Mix the cubes so that some face the office and others face the living space. If you prefer something softer, then a screen is a better choice. To save on costs, look for or make a screen using materials that match the decor of the room.

When selecting a desk, look for one that will allow you to close up sections, or the entire desk, with out putting anything away. This will allow you to leave you work undisturbed and be able to pick back up the next day. Also, having a desk that allow you to pull sections out will provide more room to work, when space is tight, and will provide sufficient storage when needed. If adding a desk is not possible and you’re sharing your office in a dinning room, you could use your dinning room table as your daytime desk and add a sideboard or small table with shelves for storing paperwork at the end of the day.

One essential aspect to the work area is lighting. The best light to work with is a directional light that can angle to illuminate your work area. The room should also have good natural light or artificial ambient light during the day or evening, so the contrast between the brightness of the computer screen and the rest of the room is never too great. The use of overhead or wall lights will balance the lighting.

If your work area is shared with another area, it is more important than ever to be well organized. If you do not have a desk to store pens, paper, rulers and every other essential items, consider using furniture like file cabinets that can used to store these items. Shelves can be used for books, box files, and magazines that can be fitted with a blind to hide them when you’re not working.

When looking for a desk that will be your computer work area, make a list of all the computer peripherals that you will be using. Make sure the desk is wide enough to accommodate a monitor if a flat panel monitor is not an option. The monitor should be at eye level for best comfort. If you are thinking of enclosing your PC, be sure there is ample air flow to prevent overheating. Look for a desk that has a low keyboard shelf with a sliding tray that can be pulled out when needed. A good desk will also include shelves for adding other components such as printers, scanners, zip drives and wireless routers. Most of all make sure the chair you choose will be comfortable and adjustable for spending long house in front of the desk. Aim to spend as much money as you can and economize elsewhere.

Having a home office that blends into an existing room is possible without making dramatic changes. Best of all, you can do it without spending a fortune and enjoy working from home!
